The Day the Music Dies: July 15, 2007

I’ll be extremely sad when NetRadio is gone - I listen to it all the time :(

When NetRadio is gone…

Will I listen to AM/FM radio more?
No, I won’t be driving any more than I do now. And besides, NPR is the only good thing on broadcast radio.

Will I buy more CDs?
Of course not. NetRadio exposed me to music which I then went out and bought. ClearChannel will only force-feed me the crap their sponsers want me to hear.

Will we be one step closer to a revolution?
That’s up to you and I, isn’t it?

Well… NPR is not the only good thing on broadcast radio. College radio is still excellent. But there’s nothing else.

The “Internet Radio Equality Act” has been introduced into the Senate. Read more about it at SaveNetRadio.org.

Why should net radio stations have to pay more than satellite radio stations? Heck, why should both net and satellite radio stations have to pay more than terrestrial radio stations?

Contact your representatives and let them know what you think about this.

Who Gets Stung by Net Radio Royalties

“When the higher rates go into effect, the real losers will be independent artists, small stations—and music lovers.”
